This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's speech "The Android and the Human", given at the Vancouver SF Convention at the University of British Columbia, in March 1972. It focuses specifically on how some of the characteristics and motivations of the present generation of children and young adults in his time can function to resist being reduced to analogues to androids ("androidization").
