Our Beloved Messenger ﷺ Said Cats Are Clean

Our Beloved Messenger ﷺ said "cats are clean". You can perform Wudhu from the vessel which the cat has drank from. But its disliked to drink it. It is prohibited to castrate animals except if they ailing. Is it wrong to feel mercy and show compassion when slaughtering an animal.
