Ryan and Nathan look at the under-loved <i>John Carpenter's Escape from L.A.</i> Roger Ebert went to bat for this one back in 1996, declaring it the film <i>Independence Day</i> could have been if it hadn't played it safe. If it had made one fifth of that film's box office take we surely would have gotten a sequel.
