Notary requirements present barrier to accessing civil courts

June 12, 2023 - Legislation approved by both house at the Capitol could make it easier for New Yorkers, especially those without legal representation, to file affidavits in civil court, according to Judith Goldiner, attorney in charge for the civil law reform unit at the Legal Aid Society.
