NNPP dissolves Excos in Enugu, Ekiti, Niger, others

<p>The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has announced the immediate dissolution of party executives in six states over anti-party activities.</p>, <p>NNPP’s national publicity secretary, Dr Agbo Major, made the announcement during a media briefing at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Friday.</p>, <p>Agbo said the dissolution came as a result of thorough investigations carried out in nine states by a 7-man Disciplinary Committee set up by the National Working Committee (NWC) under the leadership of the acting chairman, Alhaji Abba Kawu Alli. He added that after extensive deliberations on the report, serious cases of gross anti-party activities were established against critical officers of the party in the affected states.</p>, <p>The affected states are Enugu State where the state governorship candidate, Cajetan Eze and the senatorial candidate, Enugu North, Professor Onyeka A. Onyeka have been suspended, Ekiti, Rivers, Niger, Katsina Kaduna and Zamfara States.</p>, <p>According to the spokesperson, the dissolution which cut across state, local and ward executives in the affected states, is in line with the party’s Constitution 2022 as amended.</p>, <p>“Following petitions and complaints received from the New Nigeria People’s Party’s state chapters after the general election, the National Working Committee (NWC) set up a 7-man Disciplinary Committee to carry out an investigation into alleged anti-party activities.</p>, <p>“The Committee painstakingly investigated issues raised in the petitions and complaints from June till today, Friday 28th July 2023, when the full report on nine (9) States already concluded was presented to the National Working Committee during its seating earlier today.</p>, <p>The Disciplinary Committee gave ample room to both petitioners and petitioned to respond to issues raised in the petitions and complaints.</p>, <p>“Serious cases of gross anti-party activities were established against critical officers of the party in the affected states and after extensive deliberations on t
