<p>Nigeria’s men’s 4×100 relay team are on the brink of qualifying for the 2023 World Athletics Championship, which will hold from August 19 to 27 in Budapest, Hungary after running a season’s best of 38.26s to move into the qualification zone.The quartet — Favour Ashe, Kayinsola Ajayi, Alaba Akintola and Godson Brume — produced the time at the Warri Grand Prix on Thursday, defeating Ghana, who finished second.</p>, <p>Nigeria are now ranked joint 13th with Kenya in the top 16, one day before the qualification deadline of the World Athletics.</p>, <p>After striving at different meets recently, the men’s 4x400m team are the only Nigerian quartet yet to book their place in Budapest.</p>, <p>The women’s 4x400m quartet Omolara Omotosho, Patience Okon-George, Ella Onojuvwevwo and Imabong Uko qualified during the Lagos Athletics Club Series earlier this month after running a season’s best of 32:27:61s to move up to 14th and punch their ticket to the World Championships.</p>
