NEWS | Almost Half Of Workers Fall Under Poverty Line

Nearly half of Malaysia's formal sector workers fall below the poverty line.  The Economy Minister says this is based on the Statistics Department's quarterly report on wages, which said that 47% of workers have salaries below the poverty line of RM2,589 a month. Meanwhile a living wage should be around RM3,000.
