New Tax Incentive Could Transform Clare Rental Market

Its claimed a new tax incentive for landlords could be transformational for long term rental supply in Clare. Housing charity, Threshold has launched its pre-budget submission , which is seeking to introduce a sliding scale initative that would see landlords pay a reduced amount of tax based on the lentgh of fixed term tenancy they can offer. There are currently just 24 properties available to rent today in Clare, while more than 1,000 short term listings are available for booking on Daft.ie Threshold Western Regional Services Manager Graham Martin has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that the scheme could also lead to a drop off in notices to quit.
