<p>"I would have gotten the job if it wasn't for the politics."</p> <p><br /> Even if you haven't said that out loud, you may have thought that at some point.</p> <p><br /> I was there too, and looking back on it now I can tell that was all ego.</p> <p><br /> Here's why it wasn't helpful.</p> <p><br /> Thinking you need to play politics before you can be a leader is the worst way to influence people who already see you as one.</p> <p><br /> I can see why we would think this though.</p> <p><br /> Often times politics are used when it comes to selection of leadership titles and it can really piss people off.</p> <p><br /> But if we focus on that, how does that really benefit us or others?</p> <p><br /> I can't actually think of one way that would help.</p> <p><br /> And if we keep thinking that, what kind of impact will we really be making?</p> <p><br /> Not as much as we could.</p> <p><br /> What if there was another way?</p> <p><br /> A way to actually use that as a stepping stone to actually get the job and develop our leadership at the same time???</p> <p><br /> There is, and I want to share that with you today on this microcast episode.</p> <p><br /> Dive into today's episode of Master Your Mindset with Coach Marc, it's leadership time.</p>
