This week Nicky Lambert and Dave Munday spoke with guest Matthew Ward about SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities ) is everybody’s business. MW: I began my nursing career in a low secure hospital as a 'Staff Nurse', and then having gained valuable experience within inpatient setting as a 'Senior Staff Nurse'. I spent a couple of years working within the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT) and went on to an exciting career within the ICB Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Health Team in Kent and Medway. I enjoyed my role as the Health Lead for SEND 0-25 years there, which led me to the role of Deputy Designated Clinical Officer (DCO) where I'm proud to have had an impact on the development of Kent & Medway's Local Offers, and the increased quality of the health information within Education Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
