Mayor Hits Out Over Ennis Traffic Congestion Saying It's Never Been As Bad

Concern has been expressed that people in Clare are choosing to shop in Limerick instead of Ennis due to "chronic traffic congestion". Mayor of Ennis Pat Daly has called on Ennis Municipal District and local Gardaí to arrange a "free flow of traffic" throughout the town as a means of alleviating the issue. The local body has conceded that traffic conditions have been problematic in recent months due to a variety of works, including public realm enhancements on O'Connell Street, but expects an "increased improvement" in the near future. Ennis Fianna Fáil Councillor Daly believes Gardaí should intervene to ensure a smoother flow of traffic so that people aren't deterred from shopping in the county town.
