Market Close 28 June 23: Investors celebrate win in the battle against inflation

The monthly report on consumer prices showed the annual inflation rate falling from 6.8% to 5.6% in May, well short of economist forecasts centred on 6.1%. Almost all sectors finished up except for Utilities.
