South Korea’s 13th president passed away at Seoul National University Hospital, where he had been recently hospitalized after his health deteriorated. He was 88. The former army general had been widely viewed as a transitional president, during his government that ran from 1988 to 1993. (Eunice Kim)<br /> <br /> In-Depth News Analysis: President Moon Jae-in is attending a series of virtually held summits this week, with the Association of South-East Asian Nations, or ASEAN. These meetings come with a little over 6 months left of President Moon’s term, and assessments are beginning to be made on one of his key foreign policy initiatives, the New Southern Policy, which was aimed at advancing ties with ASEAN nations, as well as India.
