Kaduna: Police bust rail line vandal operations, impound vehicle, recover exhibits

<p>According to Aminu, NDLEA in the state was also able to arrest 372 drug offenders, out of which 103 were successfully prosecuted, while 31 cases are pending in court.</p>, <p>Speaking on the International Day against Drug/Substance Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, Aminu said the whole world, including Nigeria, is under siege of illicit substance abuse and trafficking.</p>, <p>Bauchi State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Monday revealed that it seized a total of 1,289.153 kilograms of different banned drugs from August, 2022 till date.</p>, <p>The Nigeria Police Force, Kaduna State Command, said their personnel, following credible intelligence, busted a gang of rail line vandals in Kaduna.</p>, <p>The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mohammed Jalige in a statement on Monday, said an unspecified number of unknown persons came to Sanzwan in Zonkwa, Zango Kataf Local Government Area, in an articulated vehicle (DAF) with reg no DAL 172 YL and vandalized about 600 pieces of railway slippers.</p>, <p>“On June 25, 2023, two additional trucks fully loaded with railway sleepers were equally recovered,” the statement said.</p>, <p>“Stigmatization and discrimination make recovery and reintegration difficult for drug-dependent users who submit themselves to treatment.</p>, <p>He said no arrest was made, however, the said vehicle was immediately impounded and the exhibits therein recovered.</p>, <p>The Commissioner of Police commended the gallant personnel for halting the vandals activities while charging the public to always make credible information available on time.</p>, <p>According to him, efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects as investigation is in progress.</p>, <p>According to the statement, police personnel were quickly mobilized to the scene of the crime on receipt of the information, and on sighting the officers, the suspects fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle meant to convey the vandalised items.</p>, <p>“And the prevalence of such an attitude is cou
