An even <em>more</em> gloomy and hopeless noir about the world of Gotham City and the Dark Knight, it can be argued that <em>The Batman </em>does not even feel like a superhero film. Continuing the trajectory of the Christopher Nolan films and more recently <em>Joker,</em> the increased realism can definitely be seen as a drawcard for the film.
