Is India’s informal economy 20% or 50% of its GDP?

<p>A week ago, SBI’s Research department<a href="https://sbi.co.in/documents/13958/10990811/01112021_Ecowrap_20211101.pdf/a4a69fed-e227-6da0-d217-a8474a5ae982?t=1635764900143" rel="noopener"> released a report</a> stating that India’s informal economy has shrunk to 20% of its GDP. And since there’s been a lot of debate about this number, we thought we’d unpack it a bit in today’s episode.</p>
