‘I wanted to explode’ – Lukaku speaks on ‘shocking’ events before Chelsea exit

<p>Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Roma, has described events leading up to his departure from Stamford Bridge this summer as “shocking”.</p>, <p>The Belgian also claimed there were moments before his exit that made him “explode”.</p>, <p>Lukaku spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, but instead of signing on a permanent basis, he began to negotiate with Juventus.</p>, <p>The 30-year-old eventually returned to Chelsea in the summer, but was banished from the first-team squad before he eventually returned to Italy to join Roma on loan.</p>, <p>“Most of the people in the room know me. You know that I don’t like to beat around the bush. I will speak in time but if I really said how it all went last summer everyone would be shocked.</p>, <p>“There were moments when I really could explode, five years ago I probably would have done that too.</p>, <p>“Now I have concentrated on what I can do best – playing football,” Lukaku said during a press conference with Belgium’s national team on Wednesday.</p>
