I Want to Pray But What Do I Say_5

<p><strong>Wednesday 5th April</strong></p> <p>I want to pray, but do I say? 5</p> <p>Prayer is a very powerful exercise and it can equally be very frustrating. All the same, prayer, is one of the most important aspects of our covenant walk with God. That's exactly why we're taking time to talk about it all through this month.</p> <p>Luke 11:2 (NLT)</p> <p>Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon.</p> <p>Here we see Jesus teaching the disciples the prayer model with which they should pray.</p> <p>Firstly, He taught them to understand the person of the Father. Secondly, He taught them to pray; "…may your name be kept holy", and you wonder what that means in the context of prayer.</p> <p>Years ago, I met with a highly placed individual who gave me his complementary card, signed it and wrote the date on it. He then told me to take it to the CEO of a top telecoms company in Nigeria. I initially thought he was overrating himself, but to my surprise, when I got to the CEO and showed him the card, he acted promptly on the request. All he saw was the card and signature representing this man, and he conferred the same regard and respect he would have conferred on the man if he were there physically. A name is a representation of person, that’s why we pray in the name of Jesus.</p> <p>Jesus taught them to pray that God's name be kept holy, adored, appreciated and respected, how? By lifting up, recognizing and appreciating of His ability and authority in our lives, praising Him and making Him know that we acknowledge His supremacy over all. Doing this influence how we relate with Him, it marks our mind with His greatness.</p> <p>Perhaps, you're still wondering what to say when next you want to pray, here is a guide;</p> <p>1. Pray to the person of the Father</p> <p>2.
