To hide is to put or keep out of sight; to conceal from the view or notice of others. In Genesis, we see Adam and Eve tried to hide their nakedness from God because they were afraid. We can hide our true feelings, our vulnerability and our deep struggles from others because we are afraid. We're afraid of being punished or hurt for who we are and how we feel.
