Heart Failure Patient Says People Suffering Feel Invisible

An Adnacrusha woman living with heart failure says that her fellow patients feel 'invisible.' New research from the Irish Heart Foundation has found that more than a quarter of heart failure patients in Ireland feel abandoned after being discharged from hospital and three quarters say their psychological needs are not being met. The IHF will now offer 6 week counselling sessions as a lifeline for people newly diagnosed. Kerry native Pauline O'Shea was diagnosed with heart failure almost 11 years ago, she wants to remind those diagnosed with the condition of the importance of counselling.
