Grammys 2022: Wizkid bags two nominations for ‘Essence’, Made in Lagos album

<p>Nigerian superstar, Wizkid has been nominated for the 64th Grammys.</p>, <p>Wizkid’s Made in Lagos album and song ‘Eseence’ bagged two nominations as Grammy award announced nominees.</p>, <p>Wizkid ‘Made in Lagos’ was nominated in the category of Global Music album.</p>, <p>The other nominees on the same category as Wizkid are “Voice of Bunbon, Vol. 1 – @RockyDawuni, East West Players Presents: Daniel Ho & Friends Live In Concert – Daniel Ho Mother Nature – @angeliquekidjo Legacy+ – @Femiakuti & Made Kuti Made In Lagos: Deluxe – @wizkidayo</p>, <p>Wizkid was also nominated for Best Global music performance for ‘Essence’ ft Tems.</p>, <p>Essence which is the fourth song from his album ‘Made in Lagos’ became fans favourite and summer hit song for celebrities in America and most parts of the world.</p>, <p>Essence debuted in June 2021 at number 91 on the UK Singles Chart after another single ‘Ginger’ peaked at No. 67 making ‘Made in Lagos’ the only Nigerian album to have more than one song debut in the UK Singles Chart.</p>, <p>Wizkid‘s fourth studio album “Made In Lagos” also topped charts from Billboard to British Vogue’s “Twelve Best Albums of 2020” and The Guardian UK’s Top 50 Albums of 2020 to “Ginger” appearing as number 150 on the US Top 200 Apple Music list,</p>, <p>Since it debuted in October 2020, Made in Lagos has become a global hit and gaining recognition all over the world.</p>, <p>The 14-track album features the likes of Damian Marley, Skepta, Projexx, H.E.R, and Ella Mai alongside Burna Boy, Tems.</p>
