Gospel of Mark - Mark 1:24-34 - Prog 11

We are in Mark chapter 1 beginning at verse 24. In this passage, Mark presents Jesus, the servant of the Lord. This one who has authority over demonic powers and diseases. Not only was Jesus recognized as one whose teaching was with authority, but He also demonstrated His divine authority over the demonic realm. Dr. Mitchell points out that these demons knew who Jesus was. They also knew they were going to be destroyed, but what they did not know was when it would happen. Demons believe and tremble. But you and I can believe in Jesus Christ and rejoice. Dr. Mitchell also brings out the Savior's healing of Peter’s mother-in-law who was taken with a fever.
