Gospel of Luke 24:13-35 - Prog 105

From the Lord’s appearing to the women, Luke now presents Jesus as appearing to two disciples traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus. Luke presents post resurrection appearances of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here, one of Jesus’ first ministries after His resurrection was to present a Bible exposition of the Christ, the Messiah from the scriptures which they had. These scriptures are what we know as the Old Testament. Jesus explained the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures. Let me ask us, Do you seek to see Jesus in the Scriptures? Hebrews 12:2-3 exhorts us to “consider Him who endured hostilities and to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith”. Let’s do this.
