When police arrived at Jennifer Nibbe's home she told them she had heard a loud noise while in the bathroom and saw a masked man standing over Jim with her shotgun. She told the investigators she believed he had the intention of assaulting her, but he was spooked by the family dog before he could. Brady, her son, was asleep in his room, slept through the entire attack, and was unharmed. He told the police that he didn’t hear or see anything.
