Girl Talk: 9 Lessons I've learned after having kids and in motherhood... Happy Mom's Day!

<p>Wow, Mother's Day stirs up so many emotions, doesn't it?</p> <p>It's supposed to be all about honoring moms.</p> <p>It also shines a light on our shortcomings as a mom, though.  </p> <p>We have hopeful expectations that may or not be met.  </p> <p>I am NOT a perfect mom but I have learned many things from having kids. I have these take aways from being a mom for 18 years:</p> <p>1. Smile at your kids.<span class= "Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>2.Your kids belong to God.<span class= "Apple-converted-space"> </span> They are yours on loan.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span> It takes the pressure off and it also is a huge blessing of responsibility</p> <p>3. It goes so fast. <span class= "Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>4. Speak life giving words to your kids.<span class= "Apple-converted-space"> </span> Tell them what you see in them.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>5. Model self care to your kids. Movement, eating Whole Foods,<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>6. Balance love and discipline.<span class= "Apple-converted-space"> </span> Say what you mean and mean what you say. Teach them to confess their sin.<span class= "Apple-converted-space"> </span> Teach them to ask for forgiveness.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span> Teach them to forgive.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span> This is how they learn God’s love and forgiveness.</p> <p>7. It’s their life!</p> <p>8. Show your kids your marriage comes first.<span class= "Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>9.
