As we celebrate the third anniversary of the adoption and enforcement of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we look back at how much this new law has raised expectations in terms of data privacy and cybersecurity and why authorities elsewhere have decided to follow suit, such as the US state of California.
