Funding Provided For New Pedestrian Crossing At Newmarket On Fergus Primary School

Funds have been allocated for the construction of a new pedestrian crossing at Newmarket-On-Fergus Primary School. Finance is available for the project under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme which recently saw a grant of €200,000 atributed to the South-East Clare village. The proposal is currently the subject of a Section 38, Roads Act application and is due before the next meeting of Shannon Municipal District members for consideration. Newmarket-On-Fergus based Fianna Fáil Councillor, Pat McMahon says a new crossing is needed to combat the heavy volume of traffic in the area.
