That left him and his mom. This forced his mom to have to work a lot. He hung out with the wrong crowd and ended up barely graduating.</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">A career in sales led him to be able to start a business eventually. </li> <li style="font-weight:400;">Today he owns a Financial Services Company that focuses on specialty 401ks that can invest in private companies, real estate, and other non-traditional 401k investments.</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">In 2008 he learned about investing in real estate through self-directed 401ks and IRAs.</li> <li style="font-weight:400;">One of his investment clients was talked out of using a self-directed account by taking a distribution.
