Four victims of Lagos multiple crash hospitalised

<p>Four injured persons were hospitalised following a Tuesday accident that involved a container-laden truck, a pick-up van and a motorcycle in the Maryland-Jibowu area, by Anthony Bridge, Lagos State.</p>, <p>PUNCH Metro gathered that the multiple crash occurred after the truck suffered a brake failure and the driver lost control, causing the bike rider and the van to collide with it.</p>, <p>The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Babatunde Farinloye, who confirmed the incident, said the injured persons were two females and two males.</p>, <p>“The accident happened around 1pm at the Maryland-Jibowu area by Anthony Bridge. Three vehicles were involved. Seven people were involved, and four persons were injured – two females and two males.</p>, <p>“The accident happened as a result of mechanical deficiency and loss of control,” Farinloye told PUNCH Metro in a telephone interview.</p>, <p>While confirming that the motorcyclist was part of the victims, the FRSC commander could not immediately ascertain which vehicle the remaining three victims were from.</p>, <p>He said the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital and the container was towed off by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.</p>, <p>In a video obtained by our correspondent, the bike was seen resting on the truck while the Mitsubishi van had its side severely damaged.</p>
