<p>The Forum of Former Deputy Governors has demanded to be included as members of the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress.</p>, <p>They made the demand at a meeting with the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, while on a solidarity visit to the party secretariat in Abuja.</p>, <p>Chairman of the forum and former deputy governor of Abia State, Chris Akomas, noted that former deputy governors have the experience and expertise needed by the party’s highest decision-making organ.</p>, <p>According to Akomas, who is the Federal Commissioner representing Abia State at the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission Abuja, the forum is organised in a manner that they recognise that they are politicians who are focused on the unity, progress and stability of the country.</p>, <p>The forum thanked President Tinubu for finding some of them worthy to be given federal appointments in his administration.</p>, <p>Responding, Ganduje stated that the position and importance of the deputy governor, although most controversial in the country’s politics, cannot be overemphasised.</p>, <p>The former Kano State governor attributed most problems between governors and their deputies to sycophants within the corridors of power, while describing the situation as unfortunate.</p>
