LEK grew at 100% a year during its first six years. In 1989 Richard sold his shares to his partners, using the capital to start or expand small star businesses – leaders in high growth market segments. His investments have grown at 22% compounded annually over 37 years.</p><br><p>Richard has written 25 books on business and ideas, including <em>The 80/20 Principle</em>, which has sold over a million copies and been translated into around forty languages. One of his other books, <em>The Star Principle</em>, outlines his unique philosophy, showing the joy of working in a startup star business.
