Fighting erupts in Ethiopia's Amhara region

Intense fighting has erupted in Ethiopia's northern Amhara region, with militia fighters taking over some towns and districts. West African leaders are expected to hold another meeting over the situation in Niger after the military junta defied an ultimatum to reinstate the ousted government.
