<p>Today we will be hearing the experience, strength, and hope of Father Bill W, who was celebrating his 47th anniversary of sobriety being a guest on this show (He will celebrate 50 years later in December of this year). He shares his own experience, faith and hope and focusing mostly on Step 6.  In this Journey In Recovery, we reflect back on the early history of AA and the practices of Two Way Prayer and the 4 Absolutes and how that applies to Step 6 and other steps of recovery.<br/><br/>Back in 2019 I was hosting another podcast called Journey Through Life, it was a long-form conversation/interview style podcast.  It was not recovery related, although I was actively working my recovery.  Duriing this time, I felt compelled by my Higher Power to do a series on the Journey Through Life podcast called Journey in Recovery.  In this series, I interviewed 16 people over a 3 month period on each of the 12 Steps of Recovery.  It was during this 3 month period that my own recovery walk was radically changed and my vision of what the Steps can do for anyone, anywhere, from any background was drastically opened up.  </p><p>It was after this series, that the idea of the Reco12 Speaker Meeting Podcast came to be.  It was in this series that I realized just how powerful the Steps of Recovery are.  It was in this series that my Higher Power opened up huge new ideas to me.  The concept of firing my old concept of lower case g god and hiring a new Capital G God and the practice of Two Way Prayer are just two of the major game-changers that came to me in during that time and that continue to shape and re-shape my walk with God and with my fellows.  <br/><br/><a href='https://www.twowayprayer.org/'>Two Way Prayer Website</a><br/><br/>Reco12 is an organization with the mission of learning and sharing the similarities of addiction of all kinds and the similarities of recovery from all afflictions and addictions, and gaining and sharing tools and hope from others who are trudging this road.
