EPISODE 30: “GOODER THAN GOOD” FEAT. MUSIC ARTIST CHRISTOPHER SIMMS AND LIFE COACH KARENA CALHOUN

He is a native from The Bronx, and grew up in a family of musicians where he learned to play the drums. After playing in the church for so many years, he was encouraged by his sister to try his hand at singing, which he later discovered to be his true passion. Well known for his powerful vocals and heartfelt of worship, Christopher has collaborated with various Gospel artists and groups such as B. Renee, Elder Matthew Greave, and Praise Xpressed Worship Ministry as a background vocalist and soloist. He serves as worship and youth leader at Morning Star Church located in Harlem, NY. In 2017, he received an award for Best Gospel/Inspirational Song of 2017 for “Lord I Need You” presented by Random Radio Show. He was a male finalist in the 2018, McDonald’s Gospelfest; and was nominated in 2019 for the Best Male Vocalist for the Kingdom Image Award. “My mission is to help people understand purpose,” says Christopher. “I want people to know that in spite of everything they go through, God still has purpose for them. Even in bad situations, God takes those things and works them out for our good.
