Learn about Jerry Thomas, Harry Johnson, and William Boothby.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>This show's lagniappe:</strong></p> <p>Boothby Cocktail</p> <p>Makes 1 drink</p> <p>1 1/4 oz whiskey</p> <p>1 oz Italian vermouth</p> <p>2 drops Angostura bitters</p> <p>2 dashes orange bitters</p> <p>ice</p> <p>1 oz champagne or sparkling wine, chilled</p> <p>1 stemmed maraschino cherry</p> <p> </p> <p>Place the whiskey, vermouth, and bitters in a mixing glass. Fill two-thirds with ice and then stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
