Episode 17: Black Abbey Series w/ Nichole Robinson

<p>In this episode, we present the third of 4 episodes in our Black Abbey series. We chat with comics artist Nichole Robinson about hermit life as an ambivert and an essential worker during quarantine, why Black folks are so hated, how her art has been impacted by Covid and the ongoing lack of Civil Rights, and the necessity of not attaching value to output during this time. We also discuss her long-term comics project “Who’s Yer Type?”, Courier font as a Black woman, fonts as characters, her arts origin story, organizing and running comics spaces in multiple cities, how to support and access small indie comics art, digital v. hard copy comics, role play, fanfiction and overcoming IP guilt.
