Description

The Environmental Protection Agency is urging the local authority to follow-up on failed septic tank inspections in the county. The EPA's latest report shows that 32% of such systems in the county failed to meet domestic wastewater treatment standards last year. Overall Clare County Council carried out just 53 of 93 required assessments in 2022 , while the remaining 40 are scheduled to take place in the coming months. However, Domestic wastewater systems which feel to meet the minimum standards are issued with an advisory notice and twenty of these have been outstandig in Clare for two years or more.
