Ep. 27 - Parental Drug Addition is Not Fiction

<div>Geri Lynn Utter, PsyD. is a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in working with individuals diagnosed with both substance use disorders and severe mental illness. Dr. Utter is passionate about working with individuals and families who have been impacted by drug and alcohol addiction as both her mother and father have struggled with addiction throughout their lives.</div> <div> </div> <div>In April of 2020, she released her first book, <em>Mainlining Philly: Survival, Hope and Resisting Drug Addiction </em>which came from her desire to share her story and instill hope. The book is based largely on experiences and challenges that she faced in life due to her parents’ struggles with drugs and alcohol abuse and also encompasses a short Addiction Handbook designed to offer psychoeducation about addiction and mental illness.
