Ennis Retailer Claims Sellers Forced To Take Consumer Purchasing Power Into Account

An Ennis retailer claims the cost-of-living crisis has made it more vital than ever for shops to take different consumers' incomes into account. New figures from the Central Statistics Office indicate people are more inclined to hit the shops this year than last year, with the volume of retail sales in Ireland increasing by 3.6% in the 12 months to August. Meanwhile, the value of retail sales rose by 1% in the month of August and a whole 7% in the year leading up to August. However, with inflationary pressures affecting consumers across the board, Liam Meaney of Club Dangan Menswear in Ennis says having stock suited to everyone's purchasing power is essential.
