<p><a href="https://www.worldhistory.org/Elizabethan_Theatre/" target="_blank">Elizabethan theatre</a>, sometimes called English Renaissance <a href="https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/theatre/" target="_blank">theatre</a>, refers to that style of performance plays which blossomed during the reign of <a href="https://www.worldhistory.org/Elizabeth_I_of_England/" target="_blank">Elizabeth I of England</a> (r. 1558-1603 CE) and which continued under her Stuart successors.
