Ecuador presidential candidate assassinated at campaign rally

A candidate in Ecuador's presidential election has been assassinated during a campaign rally. Leaders from the West African bloc ECOWAS will meet on Thursday to discuss the situation in Niger. At least six people have been killed as raging wildfires sweep through the Hawaiian island of Maui.
