<p>While some Christians believe the Old Testament no longer has any authority or relevance, Jesus (and other inspired writers of the New Testament) used the Jewish Scriptures as an authority in their life, their actions, and their teachings. In this way they affirmed what Mark recorded: “the Scriptures must be fulfilled” (Mark 14:49).
