<p>"Don't ignore me" [Fingers in ears?]</p> <p><br> <br> We're on a mission to help one million people RISE by 2030 - join the movement at <a href="http://www.myrise.co.uk/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.myrise.co.uk</a></p> <p><br></p> <p>My three older kids are all a little bit pre-teeny at the moment.</p> <p>They’re 10, 11 and 12 and, shall we say, are a bit more moody than they were a few years ago.</p> <p>I’m sure the challenges of COVID haven’t helped either to be honest!</p> <p>My stepdaughter is quite variable at the moment.</p> <p>Sometimes absolutely delightful, sometimes seemingly disgusted by my very existence.</p> <p>Zero response when I try and talk to her.</p> <p>Then a feigned confusion when I call her on this – pretending she hadn’t heard me.</p> <p>We don’t like people ignoring us do we?</p> <p>But we’re often guilty of it ourselves.</p> <p>When people join us, one of the things they express they feel they need is “accountability”.</p> <p>And then, when we attempt to contact them when they haven’t done what they said they would………</p> <p>They don’t reply.</p> <p>Sometimes ever.</p> <p>I can show you whole chat threads where I can see people have seen dozens of my messages, videos, etc from the notifications in the corner………..</p> <p>And haven’t responded.</p> <p>Ever.</p> <p>Now I get it.</p> <p>We rarely consciously think we’re ignoring people.</p> <p>Maybe tell ourselves we’ll get round to this when we’re “not so busy”.</p> <p>The thing about accountability though…………</p> <p>Is it’s a two way street.</p> <p>We can’t “hold someone accountable”………….</p> <p>If they aren’t ‘able’ (or willing) to ‘account’ for themselves.</p> <p>Head in the sand………</p> <p>Fingers in the ears going “Nah, nah – I can’t hear you”………..</p> <p>Like a grumpy teenager hiding in our room………</p> <p>Doesn’t help us.</p> <p>I always say to new members that, from my experience, the biggest difference maker…………</p> <p>Between those that get amazing, life changing results………..</p> <p>And those that………</p> <p>Don’t…………</p> <
