Clare's Fianna Fáíl TD claims some counties are not taking their fair share of the load in hosting Asylum Seekers. It comes as the Department of the Integration has stated that its experiencing a signifcant shortfall accommodation, with redeployments of tented setups at sites such as Knockalisheen mooted in the near future. 750 Ukrainian refugees will be moving into tents at Electric Picnic tomorrow, as Government has not been able to source housing for them, after 10 thousand Ukrainian refugees have arrived here since May 1st. At the end of June, a total of 4,626 Ukrainain arrivals were residing in Clare, while Monaghan by comparsion was hosting just over 600. Meelick Deputy Cathal Crowe believes issues of capacity can be addressed if other counties step up to the plate.
