It comes amid growing concern from businesses in West and North Clare that some coach operators are breaching NTA guidelines and not following designated tourist routes. Locals claim that iconic sites such as the Cliffs of Moher are being reduced to a quick photo call opportunity for visitors, who are subsequently departing without contributing to the economy. Meelick Deputy Cathal Crowe says the practice is completely unsustainable.
