Clare TD Calls For Innovative Solutions In Time Of Crisis

A Clare Independent TD is criticising the government for 'pushing back' on the Local Authority's county development plan. In March Clare County Councillors adopted their new county development plan for 2023 to 2029, following a public consultation process that began in September of 2020. However the adoption triggered the intervention of Housing Minister, Darragh O'Brien who issued a draft direction contending that the plan was not in compliance with the requirements of the Planning and Development Act. Speaking in Dáíl Eireann, Kilrush based deputy, Violet Anne Wynne claims departmental policy is preventing people from residing in their local communities.
