Description

The President of the Clare branch of SVP says new figures showing financial difficulties for those with serious health issues don't come as a surprise. A survey by the CSO on income and living conditions reveals that more than 1 in 5 people with a serious health problem are unable to afford to keep their home adequately warm. 20 per cent of households, where one person is seriously ill, reported there was at least one occasion in the last 12 months where they failed to pay a utility bill on time due to financial difficulties. Clare SVP Branch President Denis Carty says those people affected are having to make tough calls on where their households finances go.
