Clare Sergeant Confident Ennis Gardaí Equipped To Enforce Law And Order

A Clare sergeant has expressed confidence that Gardaí in Ennis are sufficiently equipped to enforce law and order in the county town. This month's meeting of Clare County Council saw councillors once again debate the possible establishment of a designated sub-committee to tackle crime in Ennis, after Fine Gael Councillor Johnny Flynn tabled a deferred motion on the subject. Speaking at the meeting, Ennis Gardaí said while they don't believe a sub-committee is the answer, they would be open to meeting with local representatives every six month to discuss crime prevention in the region. Sergeant Catriona Holohan believes engagement with local groups, business-owners and townspeople is paramount when it comes to keeping the streets safe.
