Clare Leader Forum Claim Disabled Community Have Been Set Back Years By Budget Shortfalls

The Clare Leader forum claim the government has failed to offer pathways for disabled people to return to the workplace. According to the Central Statistics Office, one in five with a disability in Ireland are living in constant poverty due to a lack of employment opportunities. In budget 2024, the community has been allocated €64million for specialist services. However Ennistymon native & Clare Leader forum spokesperson, Anne Marie Flanagan believes the lack of engagement with disabled people prior to the announcement wont allow for an independent lifestyle.
