Description

The Clare branch of the Labour Party is calling for a use it or loose it approach to be introduced for stalled planning permissions. Under current legislation developers can sit on an approved project for up to five years before commencing any construction work. However with 61 adults recorded as homeless in Clare last month, Labour are now calling for planning permission to expire after just four years to expedite developments. Clare Labour Party Chair Denis Vaughan says new residential units need to be built as soon as possible to combat the state's greatest ever housing crisis.
